Speech-Language Pathologist
I am a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Growing Possibilities Pediatric Therapy LLC. I am passionate about helping children develop the communication and feeding skills they need to connect with others, build confidence, and reach their fullest potential. I believe that supporting children and empowering families—especially during the earliest years—creates a strong foundation for lifelong growth and success.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University in 2012. After graduating, I spent two years working at a childcare center serving children from three months through school age, where I taught kindergarten and worked in the before- and after-school program. I then returned to school and earned my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Radford University in 2016.
After completing my master’s degree, I moved across the country to beautiful Alaska to begin my career as a speech-language pathologist and embrace everything the Last Frontier has to offer. During my first two years in Alaska, I provided full-time early intervention services to infants and toddlers throughout the Anchorage area while also working part-time with school-aged children in a private practice setting. Although I later accepted a position as a traveling speech-language pathologist, I quickly realized how much I missed Alaska and the opportunity to work closely with children and their families. I returned in 2019 and continued working in private practice, with an emphasis on early intervention, pediatric feeding, and dyslexia intervention.
I have extensive experience evaluating and treating children from birth through adolescence with a wide range of communication and feeding needs. I am especially passionate about early intervention and pediatric feeding because I believe that supporting children and empowering their families during the earliest years can create a strong foundation for communication, growth, and development. My goal is to provide individualized, evidence-based therapy that is engaging, meaningful, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths, interests, needs, and goals.
I am committed to continued professional growth and regularly pursue advanced training in myofunctional therapy, infant feeding, breastfeeding support, and tethered oral tissues, including tongue-ties and lip-ties. I believe early identification, careful observation, and a willingness to think beyond the obvious are essential to understanding the whole child and providing effective support. This continuing education strengthens my ability to recognize the complex relationships among oral structure and function, feeding, swallowing, breathing, and speech. It also helps me provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while collaborating with families and other professionals when appropriate.
When I am not working with children and families, I enjoy spending time with my two young children and making the most of everything Alaska has to offer. Whether we are hiking scenic trails, skiing, fishing, camping, or discovering new adventures together, I treasure creating lasting memories with my family in the beautiful state we call home.
I am licensed by the State of Alaska and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
